I recently started working with a process that was new to my shop. This process begins with a piece of wood that is BROKEN or damaged.
The process involves multiple steps with extended periods of waiting before the next step can be initiated.
As I worked through this process, I began to ponder. Not so long ago, this piece would have been tossed into the burn pile without a second thought.
Soon I was searching through every box and bin in my shop, trying to find those pieces that are BROKEN.
At this point my thoughts became very focussed and a familiar stillness settled over me. There was no audible voice, the message was very clear. God does the same with people. He seeks out the BROKEN in order to fill the voids created by events and choices in life. In time, His handiwork is revealed in beauty not previously seen.
